LAKELAND COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (CED):

On January 6th, 2025, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will commence a construction project on the 1-4 at SR 33 Interchange. The estimated date of completion is 2029.

In preparation, FDOT will host a Pre-Construction Information Session for the public to learn about the improvements and construction schedule. We encourage anyone with questions to attend!

Some project improvements include:
-Wildlife Crossings – one over I-4, and one under SR 33 Reconstruct the I-4 at SR 33 interchange
-Noise walls along SR 33 – one from just west of Wood Circle W to Lake Luther Rd, and one in front of Snow Wood, Cambry, and Spanish Oaks neighborhoods
-Completing four-lane widening from Old Combee to North of Tomkow
-Trail and sidewalk improvements
-Reconstruct the I-4 bridges over SR 33

-Resurface I-4 to the east and west of the interchange

Motorists should anticipate I-4 single lane closures during the overnight hours from 8:30 pm to 6:30 am, and, I-4 double lane closures during the overnight hours from 10:30 pm to 6 am during construction.

Motorists should anticipate SR 33 lane closures during the overnight hours from 7:30 pm to 7 am during construction.
