On October 22, 2024 at 5:40 PM, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash in Polk County on Thornhill Road.
Here is the report from FHP:
Vehicle 1, a Chevy SUV, driven by a 70-year-old Lakeland man, was traveling southbound on Thornhill Road. North of Fox Hollow Drive, the driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle which departed the roadway. Once on the shoulder, the vehicle collided with a tree and a fence. Transported to an area hospital, the driver later expired.
